Ever since Timothy Fitzwilliams, the founder of Fitzwilliams Financial in Chesapeake, Virginia, can remember, he has been involved in business in one way or another. By the age of eight, he was already working door to door with different sales school programs. Around the age of twelve, Timothy opened his first business, a lawn care service. From that experience, he quickly learned negotiating techniques and business planning strategies.
By the age of sixteen, Timothy Fitzwilliams was the number one part time sales associate for instant credit applications in the country with Hechts department store. This same drive and motivation, and his common sense approach is how Timothy took on the financial industry. He dove into the financial industry aggressive, motivated and hungry. His relentless drive for success was fueled by both an inner personal motivation due of family tragedy and his deep love for business. This was just the beginning to his successful rise in life.
During his junior year at George Mason University, Timothy Fitzwilliams was invited to study at Oxford and Cambridge University as a foreign exchange student. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from George Mason University. Since that day, he has been quickly climbing the ladder to the top of the financial services industry.

Timothy Fitzwilliams started Fitzwilliams Financial with a life reassessment. One day, Timothy was discussing the topic of “jobs versus careers” with a friend and the conversation hit deep with Timothy. Timothy realized he wanted more out of life. Timothy Fitzwilliams wanted to help people. Timothy, at that time with an Economics background, understood the financial market more than the average person. This deep understanding was coupled with the devastating realizations of his father’s medical problems. The lack of sufficient insurance coverage from his military retirement caused enough of a financial burden, alone. The emotional strain of a serious family medical situation compiled the situation and Timothy realized many other families face similar situations every day.
Timothy Fitzwilliams’ fire was fueled by his personal family tragedy, as he realized that so many other people were in similar situations as his father. He also knew, from this personal experience, most people do not realize that their life insurance is not sufficient until it is too late. At first, the road to build Fitzwilliams Financial to what it is today was hard and bumpy. Timothy’s car was repossessed just three weeks into the business but that did not stop Timothy. Corrine Fitzwilliams, Timothy’s girlfriend from the very beginning, and now his beloved wife, stuck by Timothy’s side every step of the way.
Corrine would drive with Timothy out on his rounds for fresh market leads and to help hundreds of families. Timothy and Corrine would not return home many nights until very late. Their only drive to push so hard the next day was from God’s blessing and the emotional rush of helping their clients. Often people would thank Timothy and sometimes they would cry. Timothy Fitzwilliams diligently met with his clients through the years to make sure they stayed on the right financial track. He wanted them to be in a comfortable financial situation, so they would not have to worry about their future finances and could spend quality time with their families.
Timothy’s passion to help people is quite gratifying, as he has gotten to watch his clients grow into the plans they have built. His passion for helping people like his father allowed him to quickly become a top financial professional.

We have been so blessed, as the business has more than doubled in size within just a few years. Fitzwiliams Financial has grown from Corrine and I working out of our small condominium bedroom, and the trunk of a car, to the Hampton Roads brick and mortar company it is today.
Today, through the help of our referral partners, clients and marketing campaigns, we are hosting several dinner seminars every month. Each Virginia Beach seminar provides 20 to 40 attendees crucial financial information at a few amazing local steakhouse restaurants. One of the restaurants is the same location where Corrine and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son. I also enjoy participating with my church, The Carpenter’s House, in Virginia Beach, as I have known my pastor for over thirty years. As I write this, my son, Timothy Fitzwilliams Jr. is four years old now, and he has greatly added to my drive to achieve greater things. I cannot wait to get Timothy involved in sports and the Boy Scouts. Besides having my family, this career is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Fitzwilliams Financial has been a huge blessing, and I never thought I would be where I am today. This experience has truly changed my life. A special thank you to my wife, Corrine and Timothy.
